Tables and bench seats are leisurely spread over four levels within a rustic open-sided building cooled by ceiling fans and completed with a bar and custom-designed murals. At Aribar, amazing fresh produce, sourced from all over Bali, comes together like works of art. Tortillas are created from dough, which is homemade on site every day and then simply shaped and cooked to order in the form of tostaditas, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas and crispy tacos. Items on the menu range from the traditional to the adventurous with delights such as spicy chicken wings with lime, the Aribar beef burger, and the excellent fried corn cakes topped with guacamole, pico de gallo and pork belly. Innovative fillings include braised goat; shredded chicken with cheese and tamarind mayo; and breaded fillet of fish with mango salsa, pickled jalapenos and orange aioli sauce. The heat is toned down for most dishes to appeal to a broader segment of customers, but it’s most definitely Mexican, visually appealing and easy to like, along with a kids’ menu, and a dessert menu that includes delicious Mexican-style churros with cinnamon sugar and chocolate sauce. An expansive drinks menu includes sangrias and margaritas by the jug, a tequila buffet offering seven well-known varieties of tequila, Mexican martinis, tequila shooters, and tequila cocktails.
