Good morning with these yellow split moong daal dhoklas I made last night for my dinner! I wanted to eat something different other than jowar roti and sabji and daal do this came to my mind.! .
.
I soaked moong dal with green chilly and ginger for half an hour ( ideally 2 hours is good) then steamed for 12 minutes and tempered !! It was soft, yum, and so easy !!
Very healthy and tasty too !

.HOW I MADE THE YELLOW MOONG DAAL DHOKLA:
I soaked a cup of yellow moong dal for half an hour. Then blended it to a smooth paste with a half inch peeled ginger and one green chilli. I added salt , a generous pinch baking soda( you can use fruit salt too), a little hing/asafoetida and steamed this in a greased thali in my idli steamer ( can use a pressure cooker without the whistle ). Steamed for 12 minutes then tempered in a tap oil some mustard seeds, hing, green chillies and curry leaves! Served with green cilantro chutney!
.
.HOW I MADE THE CILANTRO CHUTNEY FOR DHOKLA: Grind together washed and cleaned cilantro leaves, green chillies, ginger, garlic, onion, salt, some, lime juice and a couple of tablespoons of water. Serve.
