ANOTHER SCAM
BEWARE:
In Vaishali Nagar, some people are posing as from "GAS UPBHOGTA KENDRA".
They come to your house( usually a lady) asking for a registration for Rs50, give you a blue colored registration card, printed with all the details for FREE REPAIRS and a 5 Year FREE SERVICE WARRANTY.
Since this is just a Rs50 rip off, many people do not care and get registered.
After a few days a co. man posed as a gas repair man comes to you home( usually in the afternoon when the Men are not at home), checks your gas supply and shows a flame from the residual gas clustered below the gas stove.
Most often the women folks in the family get scared of the sudden huge flame.
Then the Gas repair man ( the con man) suggests a replacement of gas valves etc. The women folks readily agree for the repairs.
They are charged around Rs2500 for the entire repairs ( ..a new gas stove comes for around Rs3500).
We were the victims of this forgery.
A few months after this incident, our new gas cylinder was leaking on installation. When the actual customer service people came and replaced the valve, we casually told them about the repairs on the gas stove also a few days ago.
They got suspicious and asked us about the people who had come for the repairs.
When we showed them the BLUE CARD. They were totally shocked and told us that we were one of the many customers who got ripped off because of these scams.
There were no such GAS UPBHOGTA KENDRA..and the printed card was a scam.
Thought I should remind all the Jaipur people about this scam.
